The political nerve center of India, Maharashtra, is going to witness another very important chapter in its governance, as the Bharatiya Janata Party’s Devendra Fadnavis is most likely to take over as Chief Minister in the new Mahayuti government. BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA), popularly referred to as Mahayuti in Maharashtra, has swept the recent assembly elections by clinching 230 of the 288 seats. This political realignment underlines the changing contours of leadership and alliance politics in Maharashtra.
Devendra Fadnavis: A Tested Leader
Devendra Fadnavis, the former Chief Minister of Maharashtra, is a seasoned leader known for his administrative acumen and development-focused policies. As the BJP emerges as the largest party with 132 seats, it seems only natural that he be reappointed as Chief Minister by the NDA. The new government under the leadership of Devendra Fadnavis is expected to focus on infrastructure development, job creation, and social welfare.
