The MTM ASSOCIATION e. V., founded in 1962 as Deutsche MTM-Vereinigung e. V is one of the leading industrial engineering associations with more than 240 member companies. With consulting services and software solutions of Deutsche MTM-Gesellschaft mbH, the certified training courses of MTM Academy, and the research and development work at MTM Institute, MTM ASSOCIATION e. V. has a unique position in the market. The non-profit association’s statutory mission is to disseminate the process language MTM (Methods-Time Measurement), the internationally recognized method standard for describing, evaluating, and designing human work.

The MTM founders Herold Bright Maynard, John Lenhard Schwab, and Gustave James Stegemerten are credited with systematically illustrating this for the first time. The foundation for the development of the MTM method was laid by Frank Bunker Gilbreth (1868 to 1924), a building contractor and pioneer in the study of movement. In optimizing the work processes in his company, he was concerned not only with increasing work performance but also with the optimal working method, a well-designed workplace, and energy-saving, low-stress work. Even today, MTM as a method and as an organization stands for well-designed human work.

With MTM, companies have an instrument at hand with which they can calculate processes, products, and personnel requirements exactly, significantly increasing productivity in the company and at the same time contributing to employee health. In the business unit “Digital Solutions” of the Deutsche MTM-Gesellschaft mbH, software solutions for the application of the MTM process language have been developed for almost 40 years. The TiCon software is available as a platform for Windows, SAP, and Siemens Teamcenter.

The MTM method was developed in the mid-1940s in the USA. From there it began its triumphal procession throughout the world. The MTM ASSOCIATION e. V. as the largest national association has made it is business to establish and develop MTM as a global standard in the international partner network One-MTM.

  • Training: The MTM Academy provides expert knowledge for the design and evaluation of human work.   • Consulting: The most successful industrial companies in the world use the MTM method standard to increase their competitiveness because MTM is the driver for improvement and productivity.
  • Software: TiCon creates a transparent and standardized process from the customer inquiry via product calculation to the final production planning. TiCon is available as a platform for Windows, SAP, and Siemens Teamcenter. In addition, the software can be integrated into all other PPS and PLM systems according to customer requirements. In TiCon you can analyze quickly and conveniently with the MTM building block systems or with otherwise determined times (e.g., stopped times and empirical values).
  • Research: MTM research and development is bundled at the MTM Institute in Zeuthen near Berlin. The anchoring of MTM in science and research is an essential task of the institute, which was founded in 1999. The MTM process language is established as a worldwide standard for work design. The MTM Institute also plays an important role internationally in the further development and opening up of new fields of application.

The activities in research and development, the close cooperation with partners in industry, science, associations, and institutions, the offers for exchange of experience, the expert opinions, and last but not least the own publishing activities make the MTM Institute a motor for innovation in the design of human work and a reliable partner.
