Below are the highlights of the conversation between Swiftnlift Business Magazine and SSIVIX Lab. The company was founded in the year 2017 by Anwar Rafique & G Jha. We are glad to share this exclusive interview with all the readers.

Tell us something about your company. Its vision and mission.

SSIVIX Lab is a Singapore based Social Enterprise HealthTech Company, focused on connected health also known as Technology-Enabled Care (TEC) which involves the convergence of health technology, digital media, and mobile devices. It enables patients, carers, and healthcare professionals (HCP’s) to access data and information more easily and improves the quality and outcomes of healthcare and social care. We combine Artificial Intelligence, IoT & Big Data Technology to develop a Digital Health Ecosystem for the community to use. The Initiative is a journey towards affordable preventive care from curative.

Vision: Enabling Digital Health Ecosystem for the betterment of the community.

Mission: Smart Choices in Digital Health beyond Hospital & Clinics.

What or who has been your greatest influence in health tech and why?

Giving back to society is something I personally believe in. As a result, I am very involved in community volunteer work in the neighbourhood, where I realised that the community, especially the geriatric/aging population, requires better healthcare services. As a result, my co-founder and I decided to start SSIVIX Lab for the betterment of the community.

What were the impediments you faced at the time of inception?

One of the key roadblocks we encountered was the technology’s adaptability within the end-patient and provider communities, and many doctors and clinics were hesitant to use our AI digital health ecosystem. COVID-19, on the other hand, accelerated this process, causing the adaptability ratio to skyrocket.

What qualities make you stand different from others who are already in this field?

Our vision and mission are what set us apart from the competition. There are no title challengers that provide comprehensive healthcare facilities in one location or who can meet all of a family’s healthcare needs.

We assume that each family has members of varying ages and that each family has unique healthcare needs. So, how do we get it together in one network or ecosystem, from online doctor visits to drug delivery, caregiver/nurse treatment, ambulance/hospital transport, remote vital sign tracking, and medical product purchases?

How do you see the future of the health tech industry?

I believe that the HealthTech industry has a bright future ahead of it in terms of developing health technologies and processes that will provide quality treatment, greater preparedness, and more equitable delivery of best-in-class life-saving services. COVID-19 has driven digital transformation, and there are numerous areas where the HealthTech industry is playing and will continue to play a critical role, such as gene therapeutics, which enable personalised care/medicine, and digital therapeutics, which allow care to be moved from the hospital to the home.

How do you stay informed with current healthcare advancements?

  • Acquire professional certifications in areas of interest

  • Join a professional organization

  • Network at health care conferences and meetings

  • Read online journals, blogs, and professional news outlets

  • Find an internship or fellowship in an interesting area

How can digital health technologies be implemented to enable health systems to enhance universal access in resource-limited settings?

Improving access to quality primary health care (PHC) is challenging for resource-constrained countries with chronic infrastructure deficits and shortages of the trained health workforce. There is an increasing international consensus that information and communication technology (ICTs) will provide innovative ways to improve health systems and expand the scope of primary

health care programmes to areas with the most serious health care challenges. Increasing the number of digital options available to end patients is simple to implement and affordable.

How do you keep your subordinates motivated? Tell me about your approach to leading a diverse team.

Positive communication, a friendly atmosphere, appreciating peers and colleagues, encouraging one another, and team spirit, in my opinion, seem to be the most important factors in leading and motivating team members.

What are your accomplishments?
