This groundbreaking program enables certified MRI and CT technologists to operate remotely, setting rigorous new standards for safety, image quality, and clinical oversight in teleradiology and mobile imaging environments.

Developed in response to the growing demand for telehealth-enabled services and technologist shortages, the program outlines detailed protocols for professional credentialing, operational workflows, and equipment performance. Key areas of evaluation include:

• Remote technologist workflows and licensure
• Clinical protocols and image quality
• Equipment compliance and cybersecurity
• Quality assurance and oversight

“With the rapid growth of remote imaging, this program ensures providers meet the highest quality benchmarks,” added Mark Hiatt, MD, MBA, MS, RadSite’s Chief Medical Officer.

The initiative builds on RadSite’s 2021 policy for remote technologist use, officially approved by CMS, and follows years of development, including beta testing with select imaging suppliers.
